MIXING

Bring you song to life with our professional Audio Mixing Services

What is Audio Mixing?

Audio mixing is the process of combining and balancing individual tracks of a song or audio project to create a polished final version. This is done by adjusting various aspects of the audio elements (like vocals, instruments, and effects) to make sure they all work together.

The mixing process involves volume balancing (comparative volumes between individual parts), panning (left and right balance), Compression (range of loud and soft), Equalisation (control over frequency content) and spacial effects such as reverb and delay.

The audio mix allows the musical performance to shine through and connect with an audience. It can create and enhance the sound to communicate the message, content and feelings of a song.

How do we do it?

At Habitat Studios we create our audio mix-downs on a 1981 Trident 80B console. This allows us to seamlessly interact with a range of outboard processing, adding real world colour, warmth and depth to your music. We hybridise with the latest digital technology so the best of both worlds are right under our fingertips. Mixing can be quite a personal process, and we’re happy to accomodate attended mixing sessions, where the artist can help guide the engineer to the final destination, but we are equally happy to provide remote mixing services.

Due to the analogue console, the best value is provided to the client when they are available to review the mix during the mixing process. This allows us to complete the mix and revisions in a single sitting, without having to recall the settings at a later date.
